Does virtual training work?
Yes! Below are some of the reasons that virtual training works, as well as a couple of helpful videos. Reach out with any questions!
-
For fearful dogs, no. Firstly, our main focus is training you, the human. Because of this, virtual training works very well as it ensures that we train you to train your dog ensuring more lasting results. Additionally, many of the behaviors won’t occur when the trainer is there in person, making it less necessary to work together physically. And finally, many fearful dogs work better without a trainer around as the situation can be less stressful.
In fact, even when working with local clients I typically handle the dog very little if at all, and we still primarily focus on a virtual format even for those that we can work with locally, simply because of how effective it is.
-
Virtual training forces both the trainer and the owner to focus on the owner’s education first. This is essential because the owner is the one who needs to implement training for lasting results. It’s easy for a trainer to just do it themselves instead of trying to walk the owner through it, so by training from afar we make sure that we are teaching you, not just doing it for you (which would give you poor long term results.)
-
Because we work with anxiety specifically, we have specially developed methods that we’ve honed over years of experience. Our focus is curing the root of the anxiety, not just distracting from it or medicating it. We believe that confidence, curiosity, and relaxation are the opposite of an anxious mind, and all of our methods focus on encouraging these traits in your dog.
Not only will we help your dog relax, but we’ll help them learn to maintain that state on their own and eventually adopt it as their new normal. In the process, we’ll improve your relationship and communication with them, leaving you closer than you’ve ever been!

Heather A.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“We have enjoyed learning all about anxious dogs and how to train them with Alex’s techniques. We are also aware that we, the two-legged students, have the most to learn! Alex’s approach is firm and consistent but gentle and understanding at the same time. I highly recommend his program!”
Brooke A.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Luna came with a lot of anxiety and other issues. Alex takes the time explain why she's doing things and how to help her. She is like an entirely different dog now. She is much happier and relaxed. She no longer flips out at everything that walks by the house and we can have company and I can hug my bf without her freaking out. Can't recommend him enough. So lucky to have found him!!””
Jen F.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“I am so grateful that Alex’s information was passed along to me. Learning to train a dog can be overwhelming. There is so much conflicting information online which just lead to confusion and questions. Alex was able to easily break things down and he has so much knowledge! I feel far more confident in how to move forward!”

With consistent effort Caesar’s anxiety was greatly improved, which allowed him to stop his excessive barking. The coolest part? He was 7 years old when we began working with him!
Cocoa
Cocoa was overwhelmed and defensive around her new family (full of young kids). With the right coaching and techniques, she was able to adjust fantastically and is now an integral part of her family!
Luna
Luna had many issues - stealing food/objects, stranger aggression, excessive barking, and several others. After a lot of dedication from her owners, she is now a well behaved and fun loving family dog!
